At an Extraordinary General meeting of Birkenhead and Tranmere Neighbourhood Planning Forum Limited, held on Friday 27 October 2017, it was resolved that
“That the management committee shall be authorised to register the Forum as a Community Benefit Society, with associated community land trust, asset lock, exempt charity status with the power to establish a trading arm and thence to dissolve Birkenhead & Tranmere Neighbourhood Planning Forum Limited.”
The application was submitted on 30 January 2018.
The management committee subsequently registered the Community Benefit Society with the Financial Conduct Authority and is bound by the rules of such societies.
At an Extraordinary Meeting of The Birkenhead and Tranmere Neighbourhood Planning Forum Limited 18th June 2018 in accordance with the notice for that meeting, it was resolved by unanimous vote “That the Birkenhead and Tranmere Neighbourhood Planning Forum shall be dissolved in accordance with Clause 12 of its constitution.”
Philip Barton, on behalf of the management committee explained that “The management committee had agreed that all remaining funds would be transferred to the BATCOM [the bank account of BATCBS] account as its opening balance.”
An application for charity status has been submitted and is, at the time of writing, still in process.
